When I told my rich dad of my father's advice, he only chuckled"Why not own the ladder?" was all he said
As a young boy, I did not understand what rich dad meant by owning my own corporationIt was an idea that seemed impossible, and intimidatingAlthough I was excited by the idea, my youth would not let me envision the possibility that grownups would someday work for a company I would own
The point is, if not for my rich dad, I would have probably followed my educated dad's adviceIt was merely the occasional reminder of my rich dad that kept the idea of owning my own corporation alive and kept me on a different pathBy the time I was 15 or 16, I knew I was not going to continue down the path my educated dad was recommendingI did not know how I was going to do it, but I was determined not to head in the direction most of my classmates gucci clearance were headingThat decision changed my life
It was not until I was in my mid-20s that my rich dad's advice began to make more senseI was just out of the Marine Corps and working for XeroxI was making a lot of money, but every time I looked at my paycheck, I was always disappointedThe deductions were so large, and the more I worked, the greater the deductionsAs I became more successful, my bosses talked about promotions and raises It was flattering, but I could hear my rich dad asking me in my ear: "Who are you working for? Who are you making rich?"
In 1974, while still an employee for Xerox, I formed my first corporation and began "minding my own business There were already a few assets in my asset column, but now I was determined to focus on making it biggerThose paychecks with all the deductions made all the years of my rich dad's vintage chanel jewelry advice make total senseI could see the future if I followed my educated dad's advice
Many employers feel that advising their workers to mind their own business is bad for businessI am sure it can be for certain individualsBut for me, focusing on my own business, developing assets, made me a better employeeI came in early and worked diligently, amassing as much money as possible so I could begin investing in real estate Hawaii was just set to boom, and there were 4 fortunes to be madeThe more I realized we were in the beginning stages of a boom, the more Xerox machines I soldThe more I sold, the more money I made, and, of course, the more deductions there were from my paycheckI wanted out of the trap of being an employee so badly that I worked harder, not lessBy 1978,I was consistently one of the top five salespeople in sales, often NoI hermes borse badly wanted out of the rat race
In less than three years, I was making more in my own little corporation, which was a real estate holding company, than I was making at XeroxAnd the money I was making in my asset column, in my own corporation, was money working for me Not me pounding on doors selling copiersMy rich dad's advice made much more sense Soon the cash flow from my properties was so strong that my company bought me my first PorscheMy fellow Xerox salespeople thought I was spending my commissionsI was investing my commissions in assets
My money was working hard to make more money Each dollar in my asset column was a great employee, working hard to make more employees and buy the boss a new Porsche with before-tax dollars I began to work harder for XeroxThe plan was working, and my Porsche was the proof
By using the lessons I tiffany silver jewelry learned from my rich dad, I was able to get out of the "proverbial rat race" of being an employee at an early ageIt was made possible because of the strong financial knowledge I had acquired through these lessonsWithout this financial knowledge, which I call financial IQ, my road to financial independence would have been much more difficultI now teach others through financial seminars in the hope that I may share my knowledge with themWhenever I do my talks, I remind people that financial IQ is made up of knowledge from four broad areas of expertiseWhat I call financial literacyA vital skill if you want to build an empireThe more money you are responsible for, the more accuracy is required, or the house comes tumbling downThis is the left brain side, or the detailsFinancial literacy is the ability to read and understand financial chanel classic bags statem |

| They don't want us to
know where we're going
I have a baby on my lap--a girl She has a
bright pink face and no hair at allStanley, who
sits next to me, holds a boy baby, with brown
skin and a few tufts of black hairStanley and I
are the keepers of these childrenOur task is to
raise them in this new place we're going toBy
the time they are twenty or so, we'll be gone
They'll be on their own, making a new world
Stanley and I have named these children

Sunday
The buses have stopped, but they have not
allowed us to get out yetI can hear crickets
singing, and smell the grass, so we must be in
the country, and it must be night
What kind dior logo of place can this be, safe from
earthly catastrophes? Ml I can guess is that it
must be undergroundThe thought fills me with
dreadI'll try to sleep a little now
Later
There was no chance to sleepThey called
us off the buses, and we stepped out into a

landscape of rolling hills, in full moonlight
"That's the way well be going in," they told us,
pointing to a dark opening in the hill we stood
on"Form a line there, pleaseIt was
very quiet, except for the squalling of a few of
the babiesIf the others were like me, they were
saying goodbye to the worldI reached down to
touch the grass and breathed deeply to smell the
earthMy eyes swept over chanel wallet the silver hills, arid I
thought of the animals prowling softly in the
shadows or sleeping in their burrows, and the
birds standing beneath the leaves of the trees,
with their heads tucked under their wingsLast,
I raised my eyes to the moon, which smiled
down on us from a long, cold distance away
The moon will still be here when they come out,
I thoughtThe moon and the hills, at least
The opening led us into a winding passage
that ran steeply downhill for perhaps a mileIt
was hard going for me; my legs are not strong
anymoreThe last part
was the worst a rocky slope where it was easy to

our pilot, who has a kind face
"But how will they know there's a way out, if no one tells them?" I said"How will they
know what to do?"
"They're going to have instructions," said
the pilot"They won't be able to get at the
instructions until the time is rightBut when
they need them, the instructions will be there
"But what if they don't find them? What if
they never come out again?"
"I think they willPeople find a way

"It ends there," said Lina, looking up
"He must have noticed," said Doon"Or she was
afraid he would, so she decided to hide it instead of
taking it with her
"She must have hoped someone would find it"But we might not

The fiery circle had moved up in the sky now, and

| Renting a place to live was dificult, while staying in hotels for any length of time was both costly and inconvenientFortunately, a local abbot took pity on the women and set aside a small area of his temple for them and three other refugees
Around March of the following year, DH suddenly contracted typhoid feverThe illness lasted for over a month, with no signs of recoveryAt that time, the temple was very busy and space was at a premiumIf she were to die there, it would cause a great deal of inconvenienceTherefore, with great reluctance, her stepmother decided to bring her to the local hospital
The hospital followed Western medical practice, making it difficult to engage in supportive recitation freely and in an appropriate mannerOn the 18th of August, after two or three days in the hospital, with no one practicing supportive recitation at her bedside and in a confused state of mind, the laywoman DH diedShe was fifty-one years of age at the time
We can see that DH was truly a woman of faith, who had practiced in earnestIf, at the time of death, she had had the benefit of adequate supportive recitation, auspicious signs of rebirth in the Pure Land should have appearedSuch was not, balenciaga bag unfortunately, the caseBecause of adverse circumstances, she died in a coma, unattended by Dharma friendsShe probably did not achieve rebirth in the Pure Land, but merely managed to sow the seeds of Enlightenment for future livesWhat happened to her was regrettable, but demonstrates that supportive recitation at the time of death is truly of crucial importance

PARABLE 0127: SELF-MORTIFICATION
"The practice of [self-mortification] harkens back to statements appearing in many Mahayana sutras, which demand that the Bodhisattva, in his ardor for the Dharma, not begrudge even his own bodyThe locus classicus for such mortification of the flesh is the Bodhisattva Sadhaprarudita in the Perfection of Wisdom in Eight Thousand Lines* (Astasahasrika-prajnaparamita sutra)Sadhaprarudita had nothing of value with which to make offerings to Dharmodgata Bodhisattva and decided to sell his own body in the marketplace as a way of raising moneyAs a test, Sakra, king of the gods, conjured up a young man, who offered to buy his heart, blood, and marrowSadhaprarudita gladly accepted his offer and enthusiastically started cutting into himself, until Sakra stopped him and restored him to his bag chloe paddington former condition
Buswell/Zen Monastic: 196
(* translated by E83ff)
PARABLE 0128: VISIONS OF SUKHAVATI
"If we are not diligent and do not exert efforts along the path of cultivation, nothing usually happens; however, if we are diligent and exert a great deal of effort, we will definitely witness different realmsThey either come from within the mind or are caused by outside sources
Internal realms are also called 'realms of the Self-Mind' because they do not come from outside, but develop from the mindThose who do not clearly understand the truth that 'the thousand dharmas are created by the mind,' think that all realms come from the outside
There are realms which are not created by the mind, but come from the outside (external realms)For example, some practitioners might see Buddhas and Bodhisattvas appearing before them, preaching the Dharma, exhorting and praising themOthers, while reciting the Buddha's name, suddenly experience an Awakening and immediately see the Land of Ultimate BlissOne story concerns a nun of the author's acquaintance who was cultivating in the vicinity of DalatAfter her Buddha Recitation session, as she was seated in meditation, she saw two men of noble replicas bolsas countenance, dressed like deities or Immortals, respectfully inviting her to
scale the mountains and visit their beautiful groundsIn her samadhi, she asked them, 'How can I go, when the mountains are so high and I am so weak?' One of the men said, 'Do not worry, I have a way' He then touched her lightly with something similar to a willow branch and requested her to follow himShe suddenly saw her body glide effortlessly over the grass, and, in no time, she was scaling the mountainsThere she witnessed ethereal scenes, with gigantic trees and a palace and tower in the distanceAt that very moment, a companion in the back room dropped something with a bangThe nun suddenly awakened from meditationAll scenes had disappeared but her thighs were still aching from overexertion
Master Tam: 192-199
Note: "Some might ask, 'To see Buddhas and lotus blossoms during Buddha Recitation practice -- is it not to see demonic apparitions?' Answer: If cause and effect coincide, these are not 'demonic realms' This is because the Pure Land method belongs to the Dharma Door of Existence; when Pure Land practitioners first set out to cultivate, they enter the Way through forms and marks and seek to view the louis vuitton duffle bag celestial scenes of the Western Pure LandWhen they actually witness these auspicious scenes, it is only a matter of effects corresponding to causesIf cause and effect are in accord, how can these be 'demonic realms'? In the Zen School, on the other hand, the practitioner enters the Way through the Dharma Door of EmptinessRight from the beginning of his cultivation he wipes out all marks -- even the marks of the Buddhas or the Dharma are destroyedThe Zen practitioner does not seek to view the Buddhas or the lotus blossoms, yet the marks of the Buddhas or the lotus blossoms appear to himTherefore, cause and effect do not correspondFor something to appear without a corresponding cause is indeed the realm of the demonsThus, the Zen practitioner always holds the sword of wisdom aloftIf the demons come, he kills the demons, if the Buddha comes, he kills the Buddha -- to enter the realm of True Emptiness is not to tolerate a single mark

| One must fasten her down thereOne must
refuse to be put off any longer with sayings and doings such as the
moment brought forth--with dinners and visits and polite conversations
One must put oneself in her shoesIf one took the phrase literally, it
was easy to see the shoes in which she stood, down in the lower garden,
at this momentThey were very narrow and long and fashionable--they were
made of the softest and most flexible leatherLike everything she wore,
they were exquisiteAnd she would be standing under the high hedge in
the lower part of the garden, raising the scissors that were tied to her
waist to cut some dead flower, some overgrown branchThe sun would beat
down on her face, into her eyes; but no, at the critical moment a veil
of cloud covered the sun, making the expression of her eyes doubtful--was
it mocking or tender, brilliant or dull? One could only see the
indeterminate outline of her rather faded, fine face looking at the sky
She was thinking, perhaps, that she must order a new net for the
strawberries; that she must send flowers white chanel watch to Johnson's widow; that it was
time she drove over to see the Hippesleys in their new houseThose were
the things she talked about at dinner certainlyBut one was tired of
the things that she talked about at dinnerIt was her profounder state
of being that one wanted to catch and turn to words, the state that is
to the mind what breathing is to the body, what one calls happiness or
unhappinessAt the mention of those words it became obvious, surely,
that she must be happyShe was rich; she was distinguished; she had
many friends; she travelled--she bought rugs in Turkey and blue pots in
PersiaAvenues of pleasure radiated this way and that from where she
stood with her scissors raised to cut the trembling branches while the
lacy clouds veiled her face
Here with a quick movement of her scissors she snipped the spray of
travellers' joy and it fell to the groundAs it fell, surely some light
came in too, surely one could penetrate a little farther into her being
Her mind then was filled with tenderness and regretTo cut an
overgrown branch saddened her rolex submariner 50th anniversary because it had once lived, and life was
dear to herYes, and at the same time the fall of the branch would
suggest to her how she must die herself and all the futility and
evanescence of thingsAnd then again quickly catching this thought up,
with her instant good sense, she thought life had treated her well; even
if fall she must, it was to lie on the earth and moulder sweetly into
the roots of violetsSo she stood thinkingWithout making any thought
precise--for she was one of those reticent people whose minds hold their
thoughts enmeshed in clouds of silence--she was filled with thoughtsHer
mind was like her room, in which lights advanced and retreated, came
pirouetting and stepping delicately, spread their tails, pecked their
way; and then her whole being was suffused, like the room again, with a
cloud of some profound knowledge, some unspoken regret, and then she was
full of locked drawers, stuffed with letters, like her cabinetsTo talk
of "prising her open" as if she were an oyster, to use any but the
finest and subtlest and most pliable tools omega automatic seamaster upon her was impious and
absurdOne must imagine--here was she in the looking-glass
She was so far off at first that one could not see her clearlyShe came
lingering and pausing, here straightening a rose, there lifting a pink
to smell it, but she never stopped; and all the time she became larger
and larger in the looking-glass, more and more completely the person
into whose mind one had been trying to penetrateOne verified her by
degrees--fitted the qualities one had discovered into this visible body
There were her grey-green dress, and her long shoes, her basket, and
something sparkling at her throatShe came so gradually that she did
not seem to derange the pattern in the glass, but only to bring in some

So when someone says, "I don't want to fix toilets," I want to fire back, "What makes you think I want to?" They're saying a toilet is more important than what they wantI talk about freedom from the rat race, and they focus on toiletsThat is the thought pattern that keeps most people poorThey criticize instead of analyze
" 'I don't wants' hold the key to your success," rich dad would say
Because I, too, do not want to fix toilets, I shop hard for a property manager who does fix toiletsAnd by finding a great property manager who runs houses or apartments, well, my cash flow goes upBut more importantly a great property manager allows me to buy a lot more real estate since I don't have to fix toiletsA great property manager is key to success in real estateFinding a good manager is more important to me than the real estateA great replica cartier tank property manager often hears of great deals before real estate agents do, which makes them even more valuable
That is what rich dad meant by " 'I don't wants' hold the key to your success Because I do not want to fix toilets either, I figured out how to buy more real estate and expedite my getting out of the rat raceThe people who continue to say "I don't want to fix toilets" often deny themselves the use of this powerful investment vehicleToilets are more important than their freedom
In the stock market, I often hear people say, "I don't want to lose money Well, what makes them think I or anyone else likes losing money? They don't make money because they chose to not lose moneyInstead of analyzing, they close their minds to another powerful investment vehicle, the stock market
In December 1996,1 was riding with a friend past our neighborhood chanel black wallet gas stationHe looked up and saw that the price of oil was going upMy friend is a worry wart or a "Chicken Little To him, the sky is always going to fall, and it usually does, on him
When we got home, he showed me all the stats as to why the price of oil was going to go up over the next few yearsStatistics I had never seen before, even though I already owned a substantial share block of an existing oil companyWith that information, I immediately began looking for and found a new undervalued oil company that was about to find some oil depositsMy broker was excited about this new company, and I bought 15,000 shares for 65 cents per share
In February 1997, this same friend and I drove by the same gas station, and sure enough, the price per gallon had gone up nearly 15 percentAgain, the "Chicken Little" worried and complained I smiled gucci ladies watch because in January 1997, that little oil company hit oil and those 15,000 shares went up to more than $3 per share since he had first given me the tipAnd the price of gas will continue to go up if what my friend says is true
Instead of analyzing, their little chicken closes their mindIf most people understood how a "stop" worked in stock-market investing, there would be more people -investing to win instead of investing not to loseA "stop" is simply a computer command that sells your stock automatically if the price begins to drop, helping to minimize your losses and maximize some gainsIt's a great tool for those who are terrified of losing
So whenever I hear people focusing on their "I don't wants," rather than what they do want, I know the "noise" in their head must be loudChicken Little has taken over their brain and is yelling, "The sky cheap tiffany's jewelry is falling and toilets are breaking So they avoid their "don't wants," but they pay a huge priceThey may never get what they want in life
Rich dad gave me a way of looking at Chicken Little "Just do what Colonel Sanders did At the age of 66, he lost his business and began to live on his Social Security checkHe went around, the country selling his recipe for fried chickenHe was turned down 1,009 times before someone said "yes And he went on to become a
multimillionaire at an age when most people are quitting "He was a brave and tenacious man," rich dad said of Harlan Sanders
So when you're in doubt and feeling a little afraid, just do what ColSanders did to his little chickenBusy people are often the most lazyWe have all heard stories of a businessman who works hard to earn moneyHe works hard to be a good provider for his wife and chanel cambon purse childr |

Michael and I met with his dad that morning at 8 o'clockHe was already busy and had been at work for more than an hourHis construction supervisor was just leaving in his pickup truck as I walked up to his simple, small and tidy homeMike met me at the door
"Dad's on the phone, and he said to wait on the back porch," Mike said as he opened the door
The old wooden floor creaked as I steppedacross the threshold of this aging houseThere was a cheap mat just inside the doorThe mat was there to hide the years of wear from countless footsteps that the floor had supportedAlthough clean, it needed to be replaced
I felt claustrophobic as I entered the narrow living gucci backpack room, which was filled with old musty overstuffed furniture that today would be collector's itemsSitting on the couch were two women, a little older than my momAcross from the women sat a man in workman's clothesHe wore khaki slacks and a khaki shirt, neatly pressed but without starch, and polished work booksHe was about 10 years older than my dad; I'd say about 45 years oldThey smiled as Mike and I walked past them, heading for the kitchen, which lead to the porch that overlooked the back yard
"Who are those people?" I asked
"Oh, they work for my dadThe older man runs his warehouses, and the women are the managers of the restaurantsAnd you saw the gucci backpack construction supervisor, who is working on a road project about 50 miles from hereHis other supervisor, who is building a track of houses, had already left before you got here
"Does this go on all the time?" I asked
"Not always, but quite often," said Mike, smiling as he pulled up a chair to sit down next to me
"I asked him if he would teach us to make money," Mike said
"Oh, and what did he say to that?" I asked with cautious curiosity
"Well, he had a funny look on his face at first, and then he said he would make us an offer
"Oh," I said, rocking my chair back against the wall; I sat there
perched on two rear legs of the chair
Mike did the same thing
"Do you know omega seamaster fake what the offer is?" I asked
"No, but we'll soon find out
Suddenly, Mike's dad burst through the rickety screen door and onto the porchMike and I jumped to our feet, not out of respect but because we were startled
"Ready boys?" Mike's dad asked as he pulled up a chair to sit down
with us
We nodded our heads as we pulled our chairs away from the wall to sit in front of him
He was a big man, about 6 feet tall and 200 poundsMy dad was taller, about the same weight, and five years older than Mike's dadThey sort of looked alike, though not of the same ethnic makeupMaybe their energy was similar
"Mike says you want to learn to make money? Is that correct, coco chanel designer Robert?"
I nodded my head quickly, but with a little intimidationHe had a lot of power behind his words and smile
"OK, here's my offerI'll teach you, but I won't do it classroom-styleYou work for me, I'll teach youYou don't work for me, I won't teach youI can teach you faster if you work, and I'm wasting my time if you just want to sit and listen, like you do in schoolmay I ask a question first?" I askedI've got too much work to do to waste my timeIf you can't make up you mind decisively, then you'll never learn to make money anywayOpportunities come and goBeing able to know when to make quick decisions is an important skillYou have an opportunity that you asked chanel quilted handbag fo |
